Too many pop ups that annoy you to update Chrome, ad drop their other extensions, and their own setting pages are broken by running adblockers. Straight up prevents videos from opening on the last update of youtube, causing some playback error and crippling the site. Removing/disabling the extension restored video playback. Since I only ever ran this for the ability to automatically select the highest video quality on launch, I can readily remove it.

I really love this extension and have been using it for a great many years. That being said, I'm going to have to uninstall this until the AI-based recommendations bug is fixed. Any normal bug can be shrugged off for the time being, but this bug is creating popups that cannot be disabled. If it can't be fixed, the feature should be rolled back until it can be redone properly. If "Your Privacy and Safety is our Top Priority", there are quick ways to show us that your care for the usability of the app and feeling of security the extension brings to us. Just remove the feature, rework, and reintroduce when ready. I'll be back when that is the case, and happily rewrite my review to reflect what I know this extension can offer.

Won't allow saving of preferences. And the support team doesn't reply to emails. Specifically, I have tried to turn off the "AI" advice, which keeps popping up with advice I don't want. But everytime I turn it off, some Magic Action seems to turn it on again. Avoid - there are better options out there!

While technically not containing any adware or anything that is dangerous, I would have to recommend staying away from this one. There are plenty of alternatives that do not try to trick you into thinking that the message you are seeing is from Chrome. While I do agree with their right to advertise their other products via an occasional popup from their FREE extension, I do not agree with the misleading way they handle it. True, there is no actual claim that the window is coming from Chrome itself, but the ad was very clearly intentionally designed to get people to jump to that conclusion. The extension itself is really great. I tend to spend hours working at my desk with youtube opened on a spare monitor and it's frustrating to have to change the quality everytime a new video starts. I have fiber internet. I have a 5 GIG per second connection. No youtube, it's not me. There were a lot of other features that I didn't even know I wanted until I tried them out. TLDR: Extension itself is great - 10/10 Advertising practices of the company - 0/10 Please consider a less misleading ad and I will gladly come back and change this review.

Magic Actions for YouTube offers handy features like custom controls and playback tweaks, but it comes with serious security risks. After installing, it injected adware that repeatedly opened scam tabs such as fake Chrome update pages. This is clear malware behaviour. I removed it and the problem stopped. Do not install this extension.

The retarded "Helpful" AI suggestions that appear everytime I close a youtube tab and come back on everytime I DISABLE them - ruined this app completely. Absolute dogshit.
