Try h264ify if YouTube videos stutter, take up too much CPU, eat battery life, or make your laptop hot.
By default, YouTube streams VP8/VP9 encoded video. However, this can cause problems with less powerful machines because VP8/VP9 is not typically hardware accelerated.
In contrast, H.264 is commonly hardware accelerated by GPUs, which usually means smoother video playback and reduced CPU usage. h264ify makes YouTube stream H.264 videos instead of VP8/VP9 videos.
Note: 4K and 1440p videos will not be available because YouTube no longer encodes those videos in H.264

It does what it says. Forces AdTube to switch to H.264. However, be warned that on many modern video cards - VP9 might actually be better optimized than H.264. Did a few benchmarks on my AMD Vega56 (W10 / latest drivers) and turns out while both don't use the CPU much, H.264 consumed twice more GPU power than VP9...

смотрел видео в разрешении 4к на ПК. короче параметры нормальные по ПК. видео плата 1Гб памяти. 8гб оперативки....это всё ерунда. дело в том, искал решение, выдало установку этог орасширения, ок, установил. в итоге что, вроде пошло гладко, после перезагрузки страницы. прикол в том, что вместо 4к в настройках видео в ютубе стоит HD, а это увы, не 4К. после удаления этого расширения в настройках ютуб появилось расширение 4к...... просто замечательное расширение для идиотов....как это понимать? расширение просто убирает настройку 4к....
