The extension helps journalists and researchers verify the authenticity of images, and assists in the identification of false information on social media. Search by Image is also popular among photographers, helping artists explore how their work is shared on the web, while shoppers find it valuable for discovering similar products at discounted prices.
The extension enables you to search for images from the context menu and the browser toolbar with the help of a diverse set of reverse image search engines, which can be toggled and reordered from the extension's options. Visit the wiki for the full list of supported search engines.

Images positioned at the selected area are detected regardless of how they were embedded in the page. The extension also supports searching with images from your device, images from private sites, and captured areas of the page.

I keep getting a message from Chrome saying, content scripts are not allowed on this page.
This used to be one of my favorite extension as it's all image reverse engines in one place... Unfortunately, it looks as if with googles latest update the extension no longer seems to work anymore and just gets stuck in a captcha loop that never verifies when trying to search. Please fix and I'll change my score back 5.

I love this extension! I've been using it for some years on my Firefox Browser and I am still using it every day! It is very convenient for me as a graphic designer. But today I was searching to find it in the Chrome Web store, and I couldn't find it. I wrote in the search box: (SEARCH BY IMAGE) extension, but the results it was giving me were other addons except from these. You should complaint to Google Chrome about this. People can not find your extension. I had to go in your github.com webpage to find the chrome extension. 🤦♂️ => https://github.com/dessant/search-by-image?tab=readme-ov-file
Found this app when on Yandex - SUPER USEFUL!! Use it on edge and now Chrome too. Yandex and Bing have always been superior search engines to me, but they aren't perfect and sometimes you need/want to see something new. Not very surprizing that the Chinese image searches are very limited, and seemingly don't have a way to turn off safe search. All others I've tried so far have worked as intented, except Google. Google Lens search does go to Google Lens, but I've had my own dislikes about that thing for years. However, Google has however thrown up some weird bugs as the "Google Image".. it takes you to the Google Web search. Which could just be interesting and give some entertainment. Will experiment further. If @Minaxi Nhavi see's this. It doesn't save images to your PC, you'd have to do that separtly, manually. @Karma Lotto I don't have that issue. Tested it as soon as I saw your comment. Never had it on Edge or Yandex browsers either. Perhaps try a reinstall of the extension, poke around Googles ever shortening list of settings. I used to really like this extension as an alternative to Google Lens because it helped me find the highest quality of a given image... Now it literally just sends you to Google Lens, something I could already do without this extension, the option is *right there.* I no longer have any use for this extension. You guys should consider bringing the old version of your extension back, don't cheap out and use Google Lens!
