This extension tries to mimic the ALT+TAB behavior from Windows(or Command+TAB in Mac) to allow to switch between open tabs in a Most Recently Used fashion.
It remembers the order in which you switched tabs (made a tab active) and it updates its records so that you can switch to the recently used ones quickly.
Note: Sometimes after updating the extension the keyboard shortcut settings get reset. Hence you might want to set the desired keyboard shortcuts again in the keyboard shortcut settings in the Chrome Extensions page.
Alternatively, navigate to chrome://extensions/shortcuts from your address bar to change shortcuts.

Switch between tabs in the most recently used order, can be configured to use Ctrl+Tab as a shortcut
Cycle through your most recently used tabs (MRU) like Alt+Tab, but, with the shortcut keys Ctrl+Q or Ctrl+`(~) or assign your own!
Switch back to the previously active tab using the keyboard.
Cycle through last used Chrome tabs using keyboard shortcut (Alt+Q).
Use the shortcut <Alt + Q> (or define your own) to switch between your two last used tabs. Requires a one-time payment.
⚡ Instantly switch between your two most recent tabs with Alt+Q. Like Alt+Tab for windows, but for Chrome tabs!
This is Good!
It works! Just what I was looking for...
This is the extension I've been looking for!!! Thank you Harshay!!
It works, and Chrome is much more useable with this extension.
Could be better, e.g. show preview of tabs you are cycling. But given current standards and there is absolutely nothing. This is work of genius... All these other extensions are not even usable in 99.9% cases... Imagine google is billion $ company and couldn't even include tab cycling, imbeciles, they are probably too busy making money to include even most basic functions one could think of... My only problem: it doesn't cycle continuously, I got 2 times back and then when I press forward: instead of switching to previous tab, it switches to first one I was initially on... Also it cycles back even to other windows, which is bad!
Chrome menu More tools> Extensions: choose 3 dashes> Keyboard shortcut... Find this extension to assign shortcut to it. I choose Alt+Q; it works perfectly and help me to jump between 2 recent tabs quickly.
Cool stuff!
Can I change the extension icon? It doesn't look expressive on the taskbar.
I tried quite a few other solutions in the past, and found this one works the best!
Using it all the time
