I'll just add another review about the same problem everyone else seems to be having in the hopes that it helps motivate the developers to fix it :)
Couldn't sign in the web importer. Tried uninstall and install multiple times. Still doesn't work!!
Absolutely broken. Long time Mendeley user. The Google Chrome plug-in has had its bugs, but until recently I've had few complaints. Problem seems to be causing certain publication sites to crash (or constantly refresh) and I am no longer able to import papers/citations/references into my library. If I was not in the middle of my thesis I would find an alternative, but here we are...
Also frustrated. Had time to focus on searching out and saving references today but web importer is broken and won't work. It is hit or miss so frequently. It seems like it is not opening for most now. Please fix this mendeley
I face the foul name "503..." so much time, i am do thesis report, please fix quickly
Broken. Needs to be fixed asap.
Useless. Works maybe 5% of the time but after removing and re-installing every time I try to add anything to my library. The Word plugin has actually been working decently but I'm not sure why the web importer even exists since it rarely works.
The first thing you read, beside the app name, when you open this page is "Fast, convenient import of...", well... that is just false. This thing is VERY slow, that when it functions... However, here is a small tip: if it didn't work, try reloading the page. It works with me... sometimes.
Like everyone else on here has already said, the Mendeley importer used to be a fantastic tool to quickly save references. Now it barely functions at all. If I click on the extension, a small window opens and attempts to load -something?- and then closes without ever opening the actual prompts to save the reference. Reinstalling the extension hasn't improved the functionality. Mendeley used to be great... what happened??
It stopped adding references to the library, sometimes it does not detect references at all. Mendeley used to be a fantastic reference manager!
