Not working Not working any longer- On using web importer, I get a window asking me to log in- After logging in, nothing happens- Everything (including the message asking me to login) remains the same. The password is correct- I am logged in on both the website and the desktop version.
Still like (and need!) this extension, but one of my computer is still on version 2.0.54 and the interface is better in navigation, more information output, and way faster process to load a ref on our library, which is crucial when you load a lot of ref and fast swicthing pages. What happened ? work on that guys.
Cannot add tags to imported documents.
The most recent one (as of Sep 12th, 2019) doesn't allow me to add papers from pdf. For example, here's a paper: http://papers.nips.cc/paper/5073-learning-with-noisy-labels This extension is able to detect the metadata. However, if I go to the real pdf: http://papers.nips.cc/paper/5073-learning-with-noisy-labels.pdf This extension now doesn't allow me to add this paper because it detects nothing. I think it's essential to allow people to simply add a pdf. In addition, it now doesn't allow me to *change* the metadata, even if there're errors in it. In the example above, it's a NIPS 2013 paper obviously, but this extension says it's a "Report" and doesn't detect the year. I have to change the metadata in the desktop software. Being able to add from a pdf and being able to change the metadata when adding a new paper were two important features in previous versions. I don't understand why these two features are gone. -----------Edit I'm raising my rating to five star because it's fixed and now we can add papers from a pdf webpage. Still waiting to have the capability to modify metadata through this chrome extension, but it's excellent that the developers are taking care of the reviews here.
It's great when it works, it just doesn't most of the time. It either won't load the login screen, so I can't log in to use it at all, or it won't capture the PDF, so I have to download it manually and upload it to Mendeley... so why am I even using the extension? I've tried removing it and reinstalling it, closing the reopening the browser, restarting my computer... none of it works. Either fix it, or get rid of it.
In the recent version (August 2019), choice of importing reference alone and with PDF file is disappeared. Please, enable that option again. Thank you so much for this great app for research people.
Overall: very handy extension especially because of integration with MS Office. Only major problem is that 80% of the time, the extension won't automatically recognize author and publisher of chosen web article/document. Looking forward to October update for manually editing metadata of added reference from the extension UI! I also hope that the sign-in issue can be fixed soon for both web importer and office add-in :)
NOT WORKING. It asks you to sign in but then nothing happens
Can be useful but they really need to fix in the need to sign-in every time you use the tool! This plugin is supposed to save me time but this dithering around means it takes as much time as it saves!
Newest iteration of the extension won't import 90% of the sites you visit. Proquest was the only site that would import. Otherwise the importer will always say "No articles here" and give no option to manually add. Completely useless and you guys need really NEED to bring back the old version. This version is unusable.
