uBlock Origin ;)))
While I'm sure the work on this Lite version has been executed excellently to operate within new limitations, losing the ability to add custom filters renders it effectively useless to me, so I had to remove it.
If you don't need the more advanced features of uBlock Origin, the Lite version will does a good job of blocking ads when in the Optimal setting. I tested uBlock Origin against uBlock Origin Lite by opening a Windows Sandbox and running Chrome in the Sandbox with the uBOL while running the uBO in my regular Chrome browser. This allowed me to do a side by side comparison. I found with the Filtering Mode set to Optimal in uBOL, the web sites I tested appeared to have the same level of ad blocking as the full version of uBO. I know that a lot of the advanced functions of uBO are not in uBOL, but if you just want set it and forget it ad blocking, uBOL does a good job.
For most people (including me), uBOL's adblocking capabilities (when set to "Optimal" or "Complete") are sufficient enough and is a suitable replacement for uBO (although it isn't supposed to be). But, if you want to have more advanced adblocking capabilities, like adding your own filters, you have to install Firefox (or one of its forks) to install uBO because Google has deprecated all MV2 extensions. Best MV3 adblock, but not a drop-in replacement for MV2 adblock.
Today, at 20/8/2024 It's not working enymore. i got black sccreen on youtube at stil (Showing ad at top with a name of it) It seems youtube is stil forcing this, For now i'm gong to switch to Brave/firefox. and let google shi$t chrome go.
