High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

This extension, which inverts the white background to black and the black text to either white or yellow also inverts the color of the images causing them to look like a film negative of the image. The Windows 10 browser does the same with the text but allows the images to remain as they were. I now use the windows browser more and more frequently than I used to and if this extension does not change, soon, I will abandon CHROME entirely.
Inconsistent. Part of the page is higher contrast, other parts of the same paragraph are not.
It isn't consistent throughout the page, leaving some items virtually invisible
Loved the extension except for one feature. IMO the images should be left as is (at least an option) it makes the webpage unreadable & requires manual switching back and forth. also would appreciate more keyboard shortcut for site specific customization. EDIT: I know there may be some extension out there that would support what I am looking for but since these have full access to the content I am not comfortable giving some random developer access.

I had hoped CONTRAST would help me darken grey letting, etc on a white background - BUT have been disappointed
My background suddenly changed to black, I hated it. At least need to ask me before enable it. No google!
like this high contrast it kinda cuts down on eyestrain by keeping down the brightness
