High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

good... but images and videos needs to be ognored for inverting colours
Liked it, but it was a bit slow on my linux chrome. Disabled it almost right away, hope it performs better in the future.
Says it doesn't invert Photos and it does. Doesn't work on the Chrome Web Store website...?
It's a great idea, which I've messed around with myself, but though it works, it makes browsing (especially in Google+) really REALLY slow []¬_¬]

Make sure you have Chrome 19. Works fine for me.
Previous poor reviews are likely due to this extension not working in versions of Chrome older than 19. It works perfectly in Chrome 19 and higher.
Great extension! Works to make almost any website much more easy on the eyes, especially in Inverted Color mode. Works especially well in combination with Readability" extension that clears out ads and other clutter. I wish there was an option not to invert pictures and video. If you are on a site with a lot of pics and vids, you will need to turn the extension off temporarily to see them properly. Extension called Change Color can invert background and text colors without inverting pictures and video, but it often fails to render basic web elements like buttons, and sometimes makes typed text invisible. I understand this is a tough challenge, because those buttons are pictures, too, and inverting them makes them a lot more visible. But at least videos should be excluded from being inverted. That's the only thing I would do to improve this extension.
