High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

Hi, i skipped recently from firefox to chrome. I noticed from the very beginning that the text displayed like in google search was not like in Firefox. one gets easily tired reading on chrome, Firefox has good natural contrast text displaying. Using this addons helped a lot. I have a request, would it be possible to add a new entry in the addons menu where i can just apply about 60% or 50% of the increased contrast? on some pages the contrast is just too much. anyway, thank you for the addons good is that the scheme can be apply or disable on any website, and chrome remembers the setting.
Frustrating. I love the idea, the options. But getting it to work is problematic. I start reading a page in nice contrasty text (this one included), and then it suddenly reverts and I can't read the gray on white again. So I refresh the page which seems to re-enable the contrast but I'm taken back to the beginning. So I start again, get a few sentences further, when it reverts. If you could figure out how to get it to not spontaneously revert to low contrast, then I'd consider it successful. Right now, it's just frustrating. Ultimately it's the fault of all those (I'm looking at YOU too, Google) web designers who think gray on white is acceptable. It is NOT. So please stop.
I like the straightforward "increase contrast" option. However, it would be nice to be able to select how much to increase the contrast by.
