High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

NICE !!!
This extension has good idea and potential, but it makes a problem with some pages. Google map page with this enabled extension has some trash marks on the map.
Works well; also easy to turn off, if necessary, when it conflicts with the rare site that won't allow it.
Facebook. A site I am obligated to pursue for social success has too many frames. The over lay bar at the top, and individual frames repeat when you scroll down leading to a resulting screen that looks like a mosaic.
It's a nice addition to Chrome extension, and I was in the search for something like that. For the most part it works ok but there are some web sites where the extension dosen't work well, some visual glitches appear on "inverted color" setting.
The "High Contrast"Chrome extension people have provided their product at no charge: and I am grateful. But, it does not work for me. A little philosophical aside: either the Google Chrome people or website creators (or both) have recently begun engaging in the practice of reducing contrast - so that light-blue fill in boxes and check boxes are practically invisible. This is the sort of fey cuteness that sets in on these people when they want to draw your eye to the money-making part of a page. Today, I was simply unable to even find the fill-in boxes at the Sharp USA support page: So I installed "High Contrast": I was able to see the fill-in boxes at the Sharp USA page: but the pull-down boxes became completely corrupted. On reflection, I do not think that "High Contrast" is the culprit. I do, however, think that Sharp USA is employing a bunch of cute little html writers who believe that setting the box borders in light blue is fun.
"white blink effect" and invert .png image on the pages... why?
3 stars due to this bug: Textfields in places like Amazon are now often appearing completely black (background and text) on white style themes like normal & increased contrast. I switched between inverted color back to increased contrast to cause this I think, but no matter what it won't go away now. The only way to see what I'm writing/have written when this randomly happens is to highlight the textfields. Please fix this bug and I'll be a happy chromecamper.
