This extension allows you to download the source code for chrome extensions. Please open the toolbar popup and add a valid extension URL in the designated input field (top section). You can also navigate to the chrome web store, find an extension, and then open the toolbar popup.
The URL for the active tab will be automatically inserted into the input field. Once the URL is added, the related extension ID will be extracted and written in the - Current extension ID - area. Now, please click on the - Download as CRX - or - Download as ZIP - buttons to start downloading the extension as ".zip" or ".crx" formats. Please note that the progress bar in the toolbar popup shows you the current progress for downloading the extension. Once downloading is done, the final file will be available in the default download location on your machine.
Note: The extension interface supports dark mode. To switch the interface theme to dark, please press the moon icon in the bottom-right toolbar.

I tried CRX Downloader in october 2023 and I wasn't able to download anything, even disabling almost all extension. With this one I was able to download the zip of the extension I wanted. It seems simple and effective.
On another level, exactly what I needed.

it works as expected
Funktioniert zwar, aber bei mir wird der Name nicht richtig vergeben! Es steht bei der CRX-Datei als Name nur „undefinied“ und das ist komisch! Entweder liegt es an einer Browsereinstellung oder es ist ein Bug! Ich habe alle anderen Erweiterungen deaktiviert, bis auf diese. Das Ergebnis bleibt dasselbe! Leider für mich unbrauchbar und nicht zu benutzen! Bitte diesen Umstand beheben! Auch dass es kein Kontextmenü gibt, finde ich schade und schlecht! Denn per Kontextmenü wäre es einfacher, weil man nur einen Rechtsklick machen müsste! Das wäre auch nicht schwer zu implementieren (ich habe es gemacht für mich persönlich). Aber im Großen und Ganzen eine äußerst schlechte Erweiterung! (Und das ist meine persönliche Meinung! Ohne jemanden angreifen zu wollen! Ich möchte nur meine Erfahrung und Empfindung wiedergeben!)
