Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

==================

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Crazy to remove it initially, but great to bring it back, crazy to bring it back like this exension. Unlike most of the peoples review I rate the exension, not the decision to remove it.

Just as others have said, this should be a setting in chrome and not an extension.

I understand Google’s reasoning for removing the “go back with backspace” as the default browser behavior, but offering this extension to restore the the old behavior for power users is greatly appreciated. The extension works well and the developers are easy to contact and quick to respond.

You have got to be kidding me ... Who ever came up with the idea of removing the backspace shortcut need to be kicked by a mule... Having to resort to an extension by google no less is even more absurd, this extension is living proof it could have been done with just an enable/disable option in settings...

It should be a setting, not an extension, google.

Shouldn't have to exist, but at least for those who know what extensions are we can continue.
