* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

The backspace functionality was returned but what i was really looking for was to get it back on my mouse wheel left direction. I guess custom control mapping is what was really desired.
Does what it says without being annoying. On the other hand, this functionality should indeed be a toggle in the settings instead of an extension. The decision to fully remove the Backspace shortcut is bad, but the plugin itself is OK.
Installed it and worked, simple as that. Brilliant!
I wish the very least of good to come to everyone responsible for the need to have this extension to be able to surf efficiently in google's web browser, which some of us are forced to use @work :/ May google go eff themselfes
