Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

==================

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

I hate that you took away backspace functionality And now in able to get that back I need to give weird permissions to a sketchy extension? This is dumb. Please put backspace back into chrome, what is this, "Hardly anyone uses it," nonsense. I used it. You killed my functionality and your "solution" gets more and more insulting by the day.

Ok seriously?? all the people complaining about it needing permissions, would you rather it go back when you need to backspace while typing? or do you want it to be able to tell your typing, and not trying to go back? That is what the permissions are for. Personally i agree that it was irritating they removed it in the first place, but some people don't use it, for that matter some don't like it so the fact they added it as an extension is awesome.

A function, that should not have been removed in the first place, now needs to see what websites I visit? No thanks.

Why does it need more permissions. Manage apps, extensions, and read/change all data from websites you visit?

This really shouldn't need to manage my apps and extensions. What's up with the new permissions....

Now needs more permissions that it shouldn't need or deserve. The backspace functionality should not have been changed in the first place.

Does what it says on the tin. I get why they removed it, but I'm glad there's an option to bring it back. Although surely this could have been a chrome://flags?

Overall it works well, but it really needs an option where it can be disabled when on specific (user-specified) websites.
