This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.

ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.

In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

It was better instead of overwriting google completely there was the method like !c {query} to direct to chatgpt. since it is very hard to change the habit to use !g {statement} for searching in google or other search engines and use specific things with chatgpt. this way I still see it more practical just to have chatgpt opened in a tab and if I need it I just send the query for my tasks. specially since querries are not one line command and I need to parametrize it for chatgpt to respond in the best way rather than shoot me random stuff whenever I search something with this method. unfortunately chatgpt is not in a state of replacing the default search engines since they are tuned over years to bring the results eventhough now it is all wasted with all promotions to bring the non sense on top. all in all, for now after two weeks of use I saw this extension totally not practical for me and I still prefer to directly work withing chatgpt website
