Wikipedia holds the world's knowledge. Wikiwand gives it the interface it deserves.
The extension works quietly in the background - every Wikipedia link opens in Wikiwand's clean, modern reader instead. No setup, no configuration. Just Wikipedia, the way it should look.
⭐🕒 Timelines: Every article with a story gets a visual timeline. Because some things are best understood from the very beginning.
⭐🤔 Top Questions: A lightning-fast, accurate, and complete picture of any topic - right alongside the article.
⭐💬 Chat: A reading copilot that understands exactly what you're reading and can answer any question with depth and accuracy.

Absolutely not-get the AI nonsense out of here. People already use AI to write award-winning novels, to write academic papers, to write school papers for them, and to help with their homework in general. There is ALREADY a media literacy problem because of AI- let's try not to perpetuate it if we can, okay? And a *paywall* that costs $9/month to get some extra themes, fonts, and an additional number of bookmarks??? When did Wikiwand become a P2W game???
7/31/2025 UPDATE: Nearly a year in post your deceptive blindside of a sellout. You guys have not implemented any options for the DAY 1 SUPPORTERS. OMNIWIKIWAND WAS THE BEST! such a fast load time, str8 to the point no BS UI. for a third time I'm congratulating you for self sabotaging the BEST extension for web browsers. You now are using AI to sell our personal data, still a ridiculous paywall. How launching a Patreon, Paypal link, donation link, etc. A paywall is everything you promised us day 1 supporters you would never do. Your revamp goes against everything Wikipedia stands for, free access to important information at any users fingertips. For that reason, along with your deceptive tactics, and unwillingness to take the criticism. I'm announcing my exit (a rarity for me, goes to show how much I valued n loved this ext. pre SELLOUT UI REVAMP). Wish you the best of luck. Goodbye Wikiwand. Wow guys, congrats 👏 you've ruined one of the best web extensions ever! For years I have been a loyal wikiwand user. The ORIGINAL UI made browsing Wikipedia so much more efficient and easy. Post redesign; congrats your extension is now useless! Flooded with AI, slower buffering time than even base Wikipedia, and best of all: a Paywall. Any regular Wikiwand user would agree that a monthly subscription fee of $1.99-$3.99 would be reasonable. But $9.99-$19.99 a month?!?! To pay for a more outdated UI, flooded with useless AI, and buffering times that are at best 3x longer than OG Wikiwand UI. I wanted to support you guys, but without being able to use the OG Wikiwand UI I have chosen to uninstall Wikiwand until the devs restore Wikiwand to the original UI, Goodbye for now. 11/18/2024 update: wow, it's even slower now, installed to see if omni wikiwand was back, but nope. Uninstalled x2. Clearly Devs don't care about the supporters who were here years back, ya know, the ones who put your extension on the map... smh. best of luck.
don't follow an AI trend, its just ruins everything. Make it like before just focus on design and simplicity Or make 2 version that are free and simple and with paid ai features. there so many 1 star review, of course developer must change it before its too late
Inzwischen überladen mit Einblendungen und daher wieder deaktiviert. Ich würde es gerne einfach nutzen, statt ständig einen Wiki-Eintrag erst "konfigurieren" zu müssen.
Used to be good, now it got ruined.
What this change did was make me realize that the normal wikipedia is totally fine. I've been using wikiwand for so long I have no idea that the current wikipedia has a pretty decent site comparable to Wikiwand. Disabled the extension after the update, see that wikipedia looks good and proceed to completely uninstall wikiwand.
Black theme locked behind paywall, its a shame, unistalled.
In contrast to many reviewers here, I like the new UI. It's clear and well structured, customizable (even for non-paying users in some ways) and the chat and AI sidebar can be hidden, if one don't like/need it. There is only one wish from my side: More than only 20 bookmarks for free.
Please add a function to remove the numbers above the text on Wikipedia🙏 , otherwise it's fine but it was better before.
This extension did NOT need AI. It was a fantastic tool. Now I can just use Dark mode on regular Wikipedia to get a nicer user interface.
