Copy As Plain Text is a lite extension that lets you easily copy any text without formatting to the clipboard via the right-click context-menu item.
Simply browse a website and select a desired text, then right-click and select - Copy as plain text - from the context-menu. The selected text will be copied to the clipboard without any formatting. Alternatively, you can press the toolbar button to copy the plain text to the clipboard.
Please note that, to paste the clipboard you can use (Ctrl + V) or right-click and select - Paste - from the context-menu.

It works when it feels like working. Half the time it works, half the time it fails. It's never consistent.

Essential with writing papers. For some reason 'rich text' copying has become the norm, which means that if you just want to copy some text or a word, you also get the entire formatting, hyperlinks, etc. with it, which is rarely what you want. Rather than undoing the unnecessary formatting in the editor you pasted the text in, this extension (which should be the default behaviour...) saves you all that pain and agony.
Helping sooo much
I really like using this extension and I use it daily. I'm always copying web text to put into emails or documents. Before finding this app, I had to copy and put into notepad and recopy from notepad to be able to have unformatted text. This makes the process so much more simple. It works. Thanks
