You may use Local Explorer to open local file links & folder links to hard disk drives, Azure Active Directory or company's shared folders, mapped network drive directly in corporate website or local host site.

how do i check file exist or not in local explorer
Works perfectly to open file links on network drives.
Apparently does not work on Windows 10
All I got was an extension and a zip file and lots of frustration.
Install took me to a link that said something about Windows. R U Kidding?? THERE'S NO WINDOWS ON THIS SHIP.

Just what we needed to get to local sources on our intranet, just like firefox and IE let you do.
Does exactly what is says it will. This "security feature" that Google forced upon us had drastically cut my productivity. I understand the ramifications of allowing local files, so let ME make the choice. /rant Anyway, thank you to vpnprodev for providing a fairly simple, "set it and forget it" solution. Files now open in native desktop apps (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.) As an aside, if you are trying to attach local files/folders to notes in productivity web apps such as the amazing IQTELL app, you will need to append "localexplorer" to the beginning of the file link in place of file:/// For example: localexplorer:X:\[FolderName] or localexplorer:X:\[FolderName]\[FileName] Then you can click from right within that webapp and the file or folder will open locally.
