It only works for the moment you don't scroll. The moment you start reading your history, it gets the same laggy as before. The approach and idea is good, but it can't fix a horrific coded frontend chat as chatgpt sadly is. One star is entirely added for the reason I cannot tell for sure the other addon might be in conflict with this one & for the good will the author was showing for sharing an idea born of the intention to help. In my specific case: - Probably a conflict with superpower-GPT, not sure, it's not like you can easily disable and enable it without things being partly messed up, so I don't mess with that addon if I don't wanna get rid of it for good. - Using OperaGX (Chrome based, capable of using Chrome addons) Anyways. Thanks for the attempt.

Works okay in some situations, but not effective at all for very long conversations. It works by completely hiding most of the previous conversation (even things as recently as the message immediately preceding the current one). This is a bit annoying because it breaks search using Ctrl+F to look back through a conversation. It seems like a bit of an ad-hoc fix that isn't actually addressing whatever the core problem is. This lag wasn't an issue before on chatgpt.com (and it isn't an issue at all on the mobile app), so it is something to do with a recent update and I don't see why it would involve hiding messages etc. Had to uninstall today because, after a recent update, it started spamming me with donation nag popups in every single chat. Worse, it is now auto-redirecting me to the developer's ko-fi. Completely unacceptable thing to do (pretty sure it violates the Chrome Web Store's ToS?). Happy to throw a dollar for an extension developer's weekend project, but not if the extension barely works, and definitely not when the developer is pushing nefarious updates that hijack my browser to nag me about it. That is not okay.

A little finicky at first, but once you figure out how it works, it works wonderfully, quick tip for anyone, it works much better if you don't scroll at all after entering a prompt, if you do, it doesn't work nearly as well.
