AudioPick allows to pick a preferred audio output device that is used when a chrome tab is playing HTML5 audio or video over HTTPS.
The extension finds HTML5 audio and video elements within the document tree and manipulates the "sinkId"` in order to switch to the preferred audio output device. Since version 0.3.8 it also finds Audio, Video and AudioContext objects that have not been inserted into the document tree, e. g. Spotify and SoundCloud should now work with the extension, too.
Since it's now possible to store/remember a preferred audio output device per domain, the extension's option panel and hence the option to set a global preferred device (for the browser) has been removed.
Note that the "Media Capture and Streams API" requires media (microphone) permissions to be granted to every site with audio sinks that need to be manipulated, which - as a result - allows those sites to access your microphone. Hence AudioPick only acquires permission when the user actually picks a non-default device for a site and restores permissions when the user reverts back to using the default. Since version 0.3.10 a "smartMicAccess" mode can be activated in the UI which further reduces the number of microphone permissions granted by the extension.

Complete trash! I have about 17 extensions in chrome and had for a long time a weird lag after previewing multiple video thumbnails. After 10 or 12 times hovering over different thumbnails, the window would become completely unresponsive. I thought it was my pc. I then thought it was the amount of extensions I had. And then I disabled each one and the problem was resolved. After re-enabling only 1 at a time, I found that this extension was causing the whole problem. I do not know why and I do not care, but it is unreasonable that an audio picker extension would cause such a thing (I could maybe understand from an adblocker with a lot of filters). It also rarely works nowadays. Absolute trash! Also, I have had this problem and learnt to live with it (because of lack of time to solve it) for more than 1.5 year. So...no it is not a new issue.
The settings where audio devices should be listed shows only a single radio button without any label. No audio device can be selected, the extension does nothing, and is completely useless.

For anyone that is still messing around with this on PC windows 10,and just wants to separate different programs to various outputs, like musics to speakers and games to headphones, i am embarrassed to say i only just discovered this is possible in Windows 10. https://www.howtogeek.com/352787/how-to-set-per-app-sound-outputs-in-windows-10/ The Audio Pick app wont work due to some updates on chrome.
It works, but need some configurations first: https://github.com/rain-fighters/AudioPick/issues/36#issuecomment-632015099 Edit: I would suggest you to use "AudioXout" instead because this extension has been abandoned for several years. Don't forget to follow the configuration step above for that extension to work properly.
