This CSS-only extension hides most persistent generative AI elements from Google properties, including Search, Docs, Drive, and GMail. Note that this extension only hides UI elements; it does not affect any backend calls or disable the product in its entirety. To avoid potential compatibility issues, it does not attempt to hide one-time promotional messages (like the first time “try using Gemini for X” popups) and only focuses on hiding the main persistent UI elements that activate the product.
Current limitations:
- Cannot hide elements within the Google Docs (e.g. the “help me write” that appears on a blank Document)
- Cannot hide things in Google Earth (it’s all one big )
- Probably more? Feedback appreciated. Many of the items that I’ve hidden were first reported by users like you!

great, now google is a little less enshittified
thank you the one in drive drives me crazy no pun intended because it loads last and i would constantly misclick on items being pushed down. terrible product with terrible implementation. fondly await the death of the AI bubble

L'extension marche bien, merci beaucoup.
On Vivaldi, and it mostly works. The button on gmail is still there, but it seems to hide everything else. Would recomend.
I'm a fully-functioning adult who can spell, use punctuation, and answer my own emails. It's insulting to have an inept, artificial "assistant" shoved on me, and doubly insulting that the premise of "helping" is a lie. It's there to mine my information, and, I find, it can't be turned off in settings. Couldn't install the Hide Gemini and Google AI extension fast enough.
Works great, now i don't have the stupid summary and other things everywhere. After 4 months it still works perfectly!
Thanks for this extension - it saved my day. I have ADHD and Google constantly shoving "Help me write" in my face was always interrupting my workflow. The effect after the extension was like removing world's most uncomfortable shoe. I have a "feature request": would be possible to have a toggle to turn on/off the extension (or individual items)? I rarely use Gemini on Docs (mostly to "fix formatting" after copy-paste from other places), but my co-workers do use it more heavily.
Shout out to the devs for making this. Google's AI is often wrong and an eyesore
