Ja, es macht erstmal gar nix. Man muss sich erst durchkämpfen. Beinahe hätte ich auch aufgegeben. Scheint noch erhebliches Potential für Verbesserungen zu haben. Erstaunlich bei dem relativ hohen Preis.
Läuft sehr gut und zuverlässig. Mitunter werden die Anmeldefelder bei den Webseiten sofort automatisch ausgefüllt, manchmal aber muss ich das manuell erledigen, obwohl die URL hinterlegt ist. Den Grund dafür habe ich noch nicht herausgefunden, aber die paar Mausklicks zusätzlich sind jetzt kein Weltuntergang.
Speicherung in Deutschland und lokal. Funktioniert einwandfrei unter Windows, Etwas hakelig ist es, die Passworddatei mit der App zu erreichen.
Es funktioniert, aber warum ploppt Extension auf, wenn ich eine Seite wähle, zum Beispiel CHIP, NTV und jedesmal abbrechen. Total nervig. habe an Eistellungen ausprobiert. Echt nervig. Zb OTTO auf klick, dann neu laden, habe aber noch nicht angemeldet, gucke m mir ein anderen Artikel an, ploppt ploppt ploppt. Extension gelöscht

Benutze Password Depot schon seit Jahren, ohne dieses Programm müsste ich ein Buch bei mir haben. Bisher lief es ohne Probleme, selbst auf meinem NAS System. Von dort können alle Geräte auf die Datei zugreifen. Besonders wichtig, es ist ein deutsches Unternehmen.
Habe das Tool seit vielen Jahren in Benutzung. Absolutes Musthave. Mein ausgelagertes Passwortgehirn. Könnte nicht mehr ohne.
Das Öffnen des Desktop-Clients über den Menüpunkt vom Browser-AddOn funktioniert nicht. Das automatische Ausfüllen gelingt häufig nur nach Anpassung der Eigenschaften und dann nur gelegentlich. Die Menüführung ist nicht intuitiv und für Menschen unter 40 (nicht Win95&98 geprägt) oft kaum nachvollziehbar. Das gesamte Display Bedarf der Modernisierung. 2FA funktioniert erstaunlich gut.
Ich habe das Programm v16.0.5 testweise installiert, um es mit RoboForm zu vergleichen. Interessiert hat mich, dass ich die Datenbank lokal, in einer Cloud, oder auf einem Server speichern und syncen kann. Das Browser-AddOn funktioniert nicht richtig. Mal gelingt die Suche und anschließend kommen keine Ergebnisse mehr. Das Öffnen des Desktop-Clients über den Menüpunkt vom Browser-AddOn ist mir auch nicht gelungen. Das automatische Ausfüllen gelingt häufig nur nach dem ich die Eigenschaften des Eintrags angepasst habe. Der Desktop-Client verabschiedet sich des Öfteren ins Nirwana. Die Auswahl über die Top-Leiste ist umständlicher als bei RoboForm. Fazit: RoboForm läuft stabil, bedient sich leichter, lässt sich aber nur lokal oder in der RoboForm-Cloud speichern. Ich habe Password Depot wieder deinstalliert.
Overall, the Password Depot Chrome extension has many issues with the way it handles logging in. This makes the extension very painful to use. 1. The prompt to login to the extension is embedded in web pages *can lead to a leak of credentials*. Sometimes webpages can steal focus from the login prompt (even in the middle of typing your password). This means that unless you notice that the focus has changed, you can end up typing your password into an insecure web application and it would be leaked. 2. There is no way to log into the extension on demand. The extension itself has no functionality to trigger the login process (for example when you restart your browser and want to ensure you are logged into the extension). 3. The prompt to login to the extension is shown very inconsistently. Oftentimes navigating to a website with a login form will not trigger the Password Manager login process. 4. The prompt to login to the extension is shown over and over when you are logged out. Again, this is very inconsistent as the extension is fairly bad at detecting what is a login prompt and what is not. i.e. taking a normal action in a web application may trigger the Password Depot login prompt over and over until you relent and login just to make it stop popping up. 5. There is no way to tell if you are actually logged in to the Chrome extension or successfully connected to the Password Depot desktop application The best workaround is to try to search for a password which you know exists and if it doesn't show results then you are *probably* not successfully logged in (not that there is an easy way to login after you know that you need to).
