CAD is a file format which is made by AutoDesk.
Autodesk became best known for AutoCAD, but now develops a broad range of software for design, engineering, and entertainment—and a line of software for consumers, including Sketchbook.
CAD files allow companies to visualise the project/construction in 3D before building begins to ensure there are no issues with the design. Most 3D softwares support the CAD file format as it is used universally by most companies.
3D software is mainly used by architecture and electrical companies, as the engineers inside these companies work with 3D drawing on a daily basis. Having this software allows engineers to be portable as they can bring their designs around without having to carry paper copies. It also makes catching errors of the 3D plans to be a lot easier vs paper designs.

GOOD
Works fine. But most CAD is white lines on a black screen. A DXF viewer with a white background is NOT what you want! Can't see the lines.
It simply doesn't work
Just now tested, it works for me just fine. Yes, it is without dimensions measuring feature, but it's fast and free of charge. One note for those, who can't open file / get blank page etc. It may be because first opened file was blank. I noticed, that extension does not open next file. If I need open next file, I just close viewer, start extension again and then open new file. Done. Zoom with mouse wheel, pan when holding right mouse button. Works as promised- simple and fast viewer.

Fast and opens complicated files. It is a viewer, not a CAD tool.
Useless. Said it opened the file, but no images showed up.
