EDIT: (NO OUTRAGED COMMENTS! THIS IS MY OPINION AND YOU DON'T NEED TO AGREE.) TL;DR: LanSchool sucks and it is illegal. So lets get one thing straight. I am a student who hates LanSchool. And i can give you many reasons why. First off, this is a spyware and is downloaded to the school computers using a virus. Secondly, being able to watch my screen at any which time, creepy much? Third, the uses of this "Application" aren't even in the 1:1/ School Chromebook policy we agreed to at the beginning of the year (Making it illegal). The problem with it being a spyware alone is enough to get it taken down, but also being downloaded using a virus, and it being illegal? That should be more than enough to have a charge of criminal penalties. The problem with it is if i search a word, such as Sex (for Sex Ed.) or Virgin Islands, it blocks whatever comes up because of what I searched. If we were doing an important project that was worth 500-600 points, and we can't get the info we need, then what are we supposed to do? I can't sleep easy knowing the fact that people are watching me through my chromebooks camera when i have it charging at night. If anyone rates this illegal spyware of a virus more than a 2 star rating, then they need to reconsider their decisions. Now, at school, using this to keep students on-task is reasonable, but researching for a paper, and having the site that you trust, and has the facts being blocked when you're 10-20 miles away from the hell that you have to go through for 7.5-8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 18 years of your life? that is unreasonable. Again, this should be taken down, just for the spyware. I am still shaking my head at how stupid this is. Plus, its an invasion of privacy, so another illegal thing. and, did I mention that in order to write a review, i have to install it? like its not watching me enough, i have to install this stupid app in order to review it and speak my mind. I can't wait for the day when The Students of America v. The LanSchool Developers comes. I'll be sure to attend.
