Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Great Extension - been looking for something like this for the past couple years!!
Finally put an end to web slices. This was exactly what I was looking for.

The only extension I use. It really should be built into Chrome, since it's such a simple and obvious thing (even IE has this built-in!). But, until the folks at Google work up some common sense, this extension gets the job done just fine.
Good for PC, just fair for Mac. While this extension does a good job sending you to the page you want to load on PC, it does a poor job for Mac. Specifically, I want to open a new tab and type in the URL while other useful choices are displayed. On the Mac must highlight the fresh tab's URL and replace it, which is too much of a pain.
Awesome. Use it to counter the Javelin Browser Sync new tab page stealing. (Which otherwise is a very hande extension...)

This new tab is like some messed up full settings page, but it's not. I strongly don't recommend it for anyone that likes nice things, like me :)
