Allows you to change the new tab page to the New Tab Redirect app page, or a custom URL of your choice!
Choose from chrome's about pages, *NewTab, Extensions, Downloads, History*, a few popular URLs, or provide your own. Your custom tab can also be a local file, allowing you to create your own new tab page. Saving blank text will cause your new tab to be about:blank.
Files can begin with: file:\\, file://, and file:///
Important: This is not meant to replace your homepage, only new tabs. If your browser is set to load the New Tab page as your homepage, there may be odd consequences.
Note: Because this extension perform a "redirect", I have no control over address bar highlighting or focus.

Thank You! I like Chrome but was irritated because I could not set the new tab open to my homepage. This does the job. It should have been automatically built into Chrome.
This is a swell extension. Despite Google's self-appointed position as (non-evil) Rulers of the Universe, one _should_ be permitted to control their New Tab page. (One _should_ be able to properly italicize words in extension reviews, too—but one thing at a time, I suppose.) The only thing I regret about NTR is the exclamation point that appears after its name when you open a new tab. Obviously the exclam isn't officially part of its name, or it would appear at the top of this page, too. Okay, I don't really regret the exclam; I just wanted to enter more text more so this would seem like a more serious review. Carry on.
Rating as 4 star (good) only, not excellent. The settings are not saved, despite saving each time. Every time, I log in to chrome, I have to 'grant' permission and also set settings for new tab page. Other wise, Google Chrome plays devil.

Great app. Does what it advertises to do; redirect to a page YOU want and not what Google wants you to go to.
This should all ready be a part of chrome. Thanks Jim for providing us this extension.
Great.
Great fix for a broken or unsavory new tab page!
Génial !
