Don't like the new Google AI overviews appearing in your search results? Perhaps you don't like the discussions section or the shopping blocks or even the sponsored links? This extension lets you hide them. It simply uses CSS to set those areas of the page to be hidden (display="none").
AI overviews are hidden by default but the options menu lets you choose what else you might want to hide: Videos, Discussion blocks, shopping blocks, "readers also ask" and sponsored blocks are also available to hide. Note that, if Google changes its CSS, we'll have to update the extension to keep pace.
You can also search the Google web results tab from your address bar by hitting w + space and then entering your query.

It's so nice to google things again without being bombarded with stupid false claims that the AI had no clue were wrong; trying to google when Apollo 13 launched and was told it landed in the year 2020...so stupid. Thanks for the absolute godsend that is this extension and I hope you always sleep well from now on, and I hope that every time you're sweeping the floor you get that stupid little line of dust into your dustpan first try. You are my hero
Well, that didn't take long... I've had this extension installed for two weeks and Google has figured out how to defeat it already...! It worked great during that period though... I would see the "suggested and sponsored - AI dialogue in pink, and then they would disappear, leaving me with a nice clean set of links... AI is rapidly devolving the internet...

Thank you so much for creating this! I broke down after reading probably the 30th AI generated hallucination about serious medical conditions family members have presented as if it was fact in a block that takes up the first whole screen of Google's already shoddy search results. But I'm so glad to see this takes out the already dangerous precursors of the AI hallucination block. I've talked to people who thought buffalo got over 8 feet tall thanks to Google's Featured Snippets (Google swapped "bison" in place of "buffalo" and then without clearly stating it, showed the height of an extinct bison with pictures of living bison.), I've watched science communicator Kyle Hill explain estimation while using a laughably inaccurate measurement pulled from Featured Snippets, and had countless arguments that ended with someone saying "oh, Google was showing me something else instead". And now that's going to get so much worse with degenerative AI. I just wish I could force this plugin on everyone else's machine.
