This is the companion extension for the Chrome Remote Desktop website (https://remotedesktop.google.com). This extension enables you to install, view, and modify the Chrome Remote Desktop native client from the web UI.
Chrome Remote Desktop allows users to remotely access another computer through Chrome browser or a Chromebook. Computers can be made available on an short-term basis for scenarios such as ad hoc remote support, or on a more long-term basis for remote access to your applications and files. All connections are fully secured.
Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform. Provide remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, or access your Windows and Mac desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

This was one of the best Free Apps to use when on the go and you don't want to carry your entire Computer system... To access my computer remotely from my Tablet or Phone eases up a ton of work load on my end... This thing is a Life saver... BUT! The recent update makes it hard to control my 2018 Apple Mac Mini... I do not have the full freedom I used to have. My Windows PC's work just fine. But something about the Apple computer + the Recent update only allows me to SEE my desktop... but not Control it. Can you PLEASE fix this issue?! I need to be able to control my Apple Computer to do work. Just like what I can do with my Windows PC's... Please fix this issue ASAP! I tried re-installing it, checking and fixing my Security and everything in my settings. Nothing.
To begin with, I'm disabled, but have multiple computers around my home. I used the desktop app to operate, and control all of these computers. Now Google is forcing me to use the webapp, which errors out, times out, loads only a grey screen, and I cannot use the desktop app no matter what I do. I'll be uninstalling all of Google's products and moving to different platforms that will better accommodate those with disabilities, as it seems Google doesn't give to cents about it.
The old app worked perfect. Now it doesn't work at all on my mac. After choosing a name & passwd the message is "An unknown error has occurred." Very descriptive.. Even the generating one-time access code option, doesn't work. No error message, just no response at all.
good job and free
Still great for remotely checking in on the training of machine learning models. I would definitely appreciate a standalone client like the old version. Some keyboard shortcuts have changed, but that is to be expected.
Just installed the app on several Windows boxes and I can access all these from my Chromebook. It works pretty well so far. Several problems people reported earlier seem to be gone. The graphic is good enough considering that I am viewing 1092x1080 screen on an 11 in Chromebook. One problem I observed is that the mouse seem to disappear at times. But it looks like I had the problem because my Windows boxes are running Synergy to share keyboards among the PCs at the same time. When the mouse move out of the remote server, there is no way to get it back from Chromebook.
New version (web app?) does not work and they will no longer let you use previous version.
Very unstable
