Secure Shell is an xterm-compatible terminal emulator and stand-alone SSH client for Chrome. It uses Native Client to connect directly to SSH servers without the need for external proxies.
A SFTP command line client is included. On ChromeOS, you can create SFTP mounts and access them from the Files app!
An alpha build of Mosh is included now too.
It has been well tested for a couple of years.

New extension seems to work almost as good as the app. However seems like it is no longer possible to have it as a separate icon / shortcut in the ChromeOS launcher or Shelf. One has to first open a browser window and then invoke the SSH extension to open a new window.
This extension is fantastic! I use it to access my linux machines at home from windows machines at work (because SSH isn't available on the windows machine) and I am so happy with the way it does what I need it too! 5 Stars for sure! I only wish it would work on Chromium running on an ARM64 processor.
Is there a way to run this extension inside a tab? I spent a long time looking through the options and couldn't find it. Especially during COVID, being able to share a window with multiple tabs that includes a terminal window makes collaboration/pair programming much easier.
Interesting that the overview of this extension says… > In progress. Use the app in the meantime. Meanwhile, if I use the app, it pops up several messages telling me to use the extension! I only use the app rarely, because I usually use an SSH client in my computer's shell, but there are times when having SSH in Chrome is handy. For now, I've disabled the app and will try using the extension.
💯
Thanks for this extension. But can you make the Shell window able to become one tab of chrome instead of an individual window ? It's not so convinient to switching from the Shell window to chrom window.
为什么要弹出一个新窗体,而不能作为浏览器Tab了?
A significant downgrade from the classic "App" I have been using for years. It did not sync my existing profiles over and the settings to find and update your connections are hidden or maybe removed... I have not found them yet. Time to look for a different extension. sigh....
Good and simple!
这个应用很棒!
