With the Stream Recorder, you can easily save live and archived videos that are delivered in a typical HLS (m3u8) format.
Even more, if the video file type is in an mp4 format, you can record videos directly using the unique video capture function.
Downloaded audio and video data is converted to mp4 as it is with the same quality without re-encoding.
This conversion is done inside the extension, without the use of an external server.
Please note that Stream Recorder is not responsible for media content which you download, so we suggest to ensure the copyright and permissions of the media before downloading.

Thank you! It worked for me on the first try. I was able to choose the highest quality. I know that it results in a larger file size, but that is my preference. I hope this extension will be available for other browsers, just in case. I'll keep trying this out until I find a site that this extension will not work on.

Hat bisher super funktioniert, ich benutzen es meistens, um archived-hls-Daten zu speichern. Seit dem Update von Chrome 84 auf 85 geht leider gar nichts mehr. Fehler: index file not found. Bitte beheben. After updating Chrome to v. 85, i only get to see "index file not found" on every stream. please try to fix that. Thanks.
This works perfectly, I had been using OBS to record m3u8 links but this is so much better as I can do it all from my browser. Would be nice to have an auto-save feature when the stream ends though
