With the Stream Recorder, you can easily save live and archived videos that are delivered in a typical HLS (m3u8) format.
Even more, if the video file type is in an mp4 format, you can record videos directly using the unique video capture function.
Downloaded audio and video data is converted to mp4 as it is with the same quality without re-encoding.
This conversion is done inside the extension, without the use of an external server.
Please note that Stream Recorder is not responsible for media content which you download, so we suggest to ensure the copyright and permissions of the media before downloading.

Hasn't been updated in years and now barely functions. Most sites it splits the video and audio and spams you even when you select "suppress adding videos". Or it just flat out tells you it can't record and pushes you to try the useless capture extension instead.

though it doesn't work for ALL but does work for most of links, it deserves 5 star rating for free
Discovered this a few months back, worked perfectly even better than some paid versions of others, and now doesn't work well anymore. Can't find an update that occurred or anything, just stopped recording videos and streaming like it used to. Huge hassle now, doesn't record video for more than about 10 seconds at a time. Shame. Would pay if it was fixed.
