Edit: I'm getting really frustrated with this addon as it doesn't seem to follow some of the rules for discarding. I find it discarding tabs where I have forms that I've filled out but haven't submitted, and it will often instantly discard tabs when I leave the page. I'm getting pretty close to ditching it. --- OP: Just installed and it seems to work as advertised. Currently on work computer so I don't have any intensive tabs open to try it with, but the ones I discarded did disappear from the Chrome Task Manager. The only thing I'm not seeing is a way to have discard options in tab right-click context menus. I would like to see that so I don't have to remember the hotkey or use the extension button to discard tabs.
Does what it claims. Definitely seems to reduce the amount of resources Google uses/
It's a great extension and exactly what I was looking for after The Great Suspender got removed. I just wish it had one more feature. Instead of automatically activating a particular tab once you switch to it, I would rather prefer to click on it to activate it (as it used to be on Great Suspender). Really wish, you would implement it. In any case, great job!!
Works really well so far!
I tried to load it, but I got . . . This site can’t be reachedThe webpage at https://add0n.com/tab-discard.html?version=0.5.0&type=install might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. ERR_HTTP2_PROTOCOL_ERROR

It works Great and saves a lot of system resources
The extension keeps discarding the active tab I am working on, sometimes even WHILST scrolling. I think they get "discarding" the wrong way
Works great, a LOT of options to configure. I love it.
