I'm writing this post to give an explanation that I hope makes sense to those users that may work for a company that actually tries to protect their systems from malware, specifically CryptoLocker type malware. The problem with the extension is that when you connect to a meeting it is setup to download and run webex.exe from the following location C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\WebEx\ every time you try to join a meeting. Most security concious companies block executable from running out of appdata, since this is starting point for malicious software, such as cryptolocker type malware. We have wasted a lot of time trying to work around this issue, but the simple solution would be for Cisco to prevent the download and attempted execution of webex.exe everytime you join a meeting. Every option to work around the GPO to block executables from running out of appdata leaves the systems vulnerable. I would love to hear about a viable solution to allow webex.exe to run from the path above without compromising the security that has been put in place and has success for many years

Extremely bad experience, I am a technologist, I set up advanced electrical power control systems using sometimes less than intuitive software. For an end user customer this is worse than most programs that I use. That says something. This is truly a horrible experience for a client to connect with an adviser, had to download an execute file to make it work. How many clients are going to put up with this? Thank you Royal Bank of Canada for giving me a task I did not need.

I was attending a training class. The instructor sent a recording. So we have use webEx to access it. So the site asked me to sign up for basic webEx account. Saying it is free. After I signed up, it says free for 14 days. Then when I clicked on webEx link. It always say take step 1 to sign up for webEx, and step 2 for Cisco WebEx extension. After clicking on the links, nothing happens. Pain in the neck to use.
