Chrome lacks a built-in setting to switch focus to newly opened tabs. This extension reverses Chrome's default background-tab behavior so users don't have to manually click on new tabs.

User installs extension once. When clicking a link that opens a new tab, the content script detects Shift key state and messages the background worker. The background worker's tabs.onCreated listener activates the new tab (chrome.tabs.update with active:true) and moves it next to the opener tab. If Shift is held, the new tab stays in background and the opener tab remains focused.
