Websites have increasingly begun to rely much more on large third-parties for content delivery. Cancelling requests for ads or trackers is usually without issue, however blocking actual content, not unexpectedly, breaks pages. The aim of this add-on is to cut out the middleman by providing lightning speed delivery of local (bundled) files to improve online privacy.

Websites rely on large third-party CDNs (Google Hosted Libraries, cdnjs, jsdelivr, etc.) to serve JavaScript libraries like jQuery and Angular. These CDN requests enable tracking by allowing CDNs to correlate user visits across different websites. Blocking CDN requests entirely breaks websites. Decentraleyes solves this by replacing external CDN fetches with identical local copies, preserving both privacy and site functionality.

1. User installs extension - works immediately with no setup. 2. When browsing, extension intercepts HTTP requests matching known CDN library paths via declarativeNetRequest rules and webRequest listeners. 3. If a matching bundled library exists locally, the extension serves it directly instead of fetching from the CDN. 4. The popup shows which CDN requests were intercepted and replaced for the current tab. 5. Users can optionally configure: whitelisted domains, block missing resources, strip metadata, disable prefetch.
