It prevents a lot of requests from reaching networks like Google Hosted Libraries, and serves local files to keep sites from breaking. Complements regular content blockers.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Websites have increasingly begun to rely much more on large third-parties for content delivery. Cancelling requests for ads or trackers is usually without issue, however blocking actual content, not unexpectedly, breaks pages. The aim of this add-on is to cut out the middleman by providing lightning speed delivery of local (bundled) files to improve online privacy.
• Protects privacy by evading large delivery networks that claim to offer free services.
• Complements regular blockers such as uBlock Origin (recommended), Adblock Plus, et al.
• Works directly out of the box; absolutely no prior configuration required.

Da Best!
Good addition to uBlock Origin
Evidently, this is very similar to another well-known extension called "Web Boost." Are there any major differences? Would there be any significant reasons to use one over another?
好用,stackoverflow极快。
4 out of 5 stars for one reason only. The extension without explanation forces the dns prefetching to be disabled, whilst this is fine for privacy, it does hurt performance and this is done without any description or documentation so people may be unaware. The performance hit became too annoying so for now I have disabled the extension and hopefully the dev will make that bit optional or come out and explain why it needed.
While I've seen other extensions around that work on a similar premise, I like this one because: * I've not found any sites breaking when using Decentraleyes * The developer has written really good instructions on getting it to play nice with uBlock and HTTPS Everywhere, which are essential extensions for me. It's nice being able to use an extension of this sort without having Chrome's hamburger icon change to a warning sign when mindlessly browsing the web Thanks!
I know decentraleyes as the FireFox plugin and open source project. I really love that the official version of this plugin is now available on Chrome. Thanks a lot for your work :)
