This extension detects M3U8 streaming formats on the active tab and offers to download these segmented streams as a single file to the user's local disk.
This extension detects all possible video qualities and uses direct disk writing to store segments. So there is no need to have a recovery plan from a possible crash. Your data is written instantly to the local file and is ready to use. It also merges all segments automatically when the file is fetched. To improve download capability, the extension also sets the referrer header of the original page.
This extension uses multiple threads to download the HLS stream to increase the downloading speed and stability. Also, it supports resuming the download process when there is a network failure (Thanks to the TDM.JS engine).
How to use it:
1. Go to a streaming website like https://videojs.com/
2. Wait until the toolbar color changes

Tried too many apps or chrome extensions to download HLS (HTTP Streaming videos). None of them worked except this. Using this extension was very easy. Other extensions were asking to upgrade to premium. This is a 100% free extension without any limitations w.r.t no. of files you can download back to back.

UPDATE (8/22/2022): Back to being broken completely. Only way I can select the file I want to download from the list is by hitting "Select All", because the check box and the download buttons by each item don't work. The "Download All" button works when everything is selected, but it won't let you actually download anything even though it makes you select a folder to download to. Original: 4 STARS After using this app for months, it stopped working for months. I found a replacement that was worse but did the job most of the time by essentially recording videos in the background as they play but it was a slow trash way of doing the job. I went to search for another replacement after the replacement didn't work on the video and I find out that this extension is working again. The user interface is clunky and buttons don't always work but the extension does what it's supposed to again finally.
Yo I needed something to download stuff like voe or other stream-site videos and this actually worked perfectly. It (to be honest) looks like barebone trash but it does exactly what it does. You go to the site with the vid, you download it and thats it. I have only tested it with voe-videos so far but it did the job perfectly <3
TEAM Live Stream Downloader, your downloader worked for me excellently, thank you. However, in order for it to go the extra step from excellence to perfection, you need to make the UI, User Interface, more user-friendly and visually appealing. You can make it more user-friendly by having an option for us to choose the minimum file size we wish to be displayed for download. Many downloaders, including yours, make it too hard and unpleasant for the user by showing a lot of very small files on the display. We only need the file playing on screen in its highest or second highest resolution if the former is too high for our PC to handle such as 8K. Thank you very much
