SponsorBlock lets you skip over sponsors, intros, outros, subscription reminders, and other annoying parts of YouTube videos. SponsorBlock is a crowdsourced browser extension that lets anyone submit the start and end times of sponsored segments and other segments of YouTube videos. Once one person submits this information, everyone else with this extension will skip right over the sponsored segment.

You can also skip over non music sections of music videos.

This is open source and the entire database is public.

Excelente para omotir anununcios molestos, intros, sponsor, etc. Pero sobre todo la cantidad de personalización que tiene para que escojas que es lo que quieres ver y no se omita. Obviamente es una plataforma pequeña que está creciendo y se apoya en sus usuarios. Pero con el paso de tiempo se volvera habitual y escencial como un adblocker debido a que cada vez más creadores están poniendo anuncios en sus vídeos que se hacen repetitivos o molestos (pueden llegar a durar más que el vídeo en sí).

Becuase like every semi high effort video on youtube these days has a sponsor in it, youtube is starting to feel like watching recorded live tv but this thing skips the ad. YouTube videos contain embedded sponsor reads, self-promotion, intros, outros, and subscription reminders that waste viewers' time. SponsorBlock crowdsources segment timestamps so all users automatically skip these interruptions.

Install extension → it auto-generates an anonymous userID → extension automatically fetches known segments for any YouTube video from sponsor.ajay.app server → skips segments in real-time during playback. Users can optionally submit new segments by marking start/end times, and vote on existing segments.

Source JS files are minified/bundled, making exact line-by-line analysis harder, but key functions (generateUserID, onInstall handler) are clearly identifiable.
