It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

It's simple, intuitive, and unobtrusive!! This extension gets my highest praise🙌. I save a ton of time watching video and listening to audio at the speed of my thought. What's your time worth??
I really love the extension, and I use it almost to the point I wouldn't be able to function without it, but I would love to be able to to change the experimental feature that allows you to disable website hotkeys to also work on the toggle to show or hide the controller. I have my keys set up so that the number pad numbers set the speed and numpad 0 shows or hides the controller, but when I'm watching Youtube if I toggle it to see the controller it sends me to the beginning of the video since I can't disable the website hotkey for that option. All that said it's not enough of a complaint to give this wonderful extension anything less than the 5 stars it deserves.
I would never watch video if it wasn't for this extension.

Not only does it work great, but now it automatically fast forwards commercials on Hulu. So so awesome.
