It will help you optimize your video viewing by allowing you to make quick playback speed adjustments, as well as rewind the video to hear the last few second one more time. We don't read at a constant speed, and we talk much slower than we read - there is no reason why we have to listen at a constant speed and at a (very) slow rate.
Once the extension is installed simply navigate to any page that offers HTML5 video, and you'll see a speed indicator in top left corner of the video player. Hover over the indicator to reveal the controls to accelerate, slowdown, or rewind the video (10 seconds + lowers playback speed). Or, even better, use your keyboard:
- S - decrease playback speed.
- D - increase playback speed.
- R - reset playback speed.

Hi, I'm reporting a bug caused by the Video Speed Controller extension. When this extension is active in Chrome, the Google Shopping results page does not load correctly. Specifically, product images, titles, prices, and seller details are missing or invisible. The layout is broken, and large portions of the content appear blank (screenshot attached). I have confirmed that this issue is 100% caused by your extension—disabling it immediately resolves the problem, and everything displays normally. Please investigate this compatibility issue, as it significantly affects browsing experience on widely used services like Google. Let me know if you need any additional information. Thanks!
Here's a nifty trick. I've copy paste this from the extension information menu: "To enable playback of local media (e.g. File > Open File), you need to grant additional permissions to the extension. In a new tab, navigate to chrome://extensions Find "Video Speed Controller" extension in the list and enable "Allow access to file URLs" Open a new tab and try opening a local file, the controls should show up" With this, there's no need for an external media player to speed up video on your computer. :-D
