It’s the add-on for Google Chrome, it turns browser into what it has never been in it’s life: a browser that is no longer resource killer (and if you have ever used Google’s browser you know very well what I’m talking about, with the results on Windows or macOS). The Marvellous Suspender has everything you need to allow you to control the behavior of active / inactive tabs and thus free up RAM when possible, in a transparent way, you do the first configuration and then you forget it exists, what you can do is only that couple of clicks that will serve to manually suspend a tab that you have awakened by mistake by selecting it.
Fork of the original The Great Suspender, but without those modifications that go to invade user privacy. You can find the official repository at github.com/gioxx/MarvellousSuspender, feel free to participate if you have the skills to do that.

This used to be a 5 star extension now 1 star - hence the 3. Now it no longer works at all in Chrome so I can no longer leave lots of tabs open to come back to as my computer memory is being hogged again. Please bring this back! I know I would be prepared to pay a fee to use this as it really helps productivity!

Дополню отзыв о потере данных. Последнюю неделю появилась проблема, если приглушенные вкладки находятся в группах, то после сбоя вместо них открывается домашняя страница. Но если сбой был разовый, то их можно восстановить, нажав стрелку "Назад". Если стрелка неактивна, то попробуйте посмотреть в настройках расширения, вкладка "Управление сессиями", там автосохранены последние сессии за несколько дней. С точки зрения безопасности данных, это вызывает вопросы, но хотя бы можно восстановить вкладки. У меня пропало 400 открытых вкладок, но в итоге я смог их восстановить.

I love this extension. Would you please update it so it doesn't get removed? "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."
Oh no. @#$!@$!@# Google is going after all the best extensions because they want more ad revenue. The Marvelous Suspender and its predecessor (before it got sold off to some unscrupulous company) were and are awesome. The suspended tabs session is now a bit less important than it once was but the saving of sessions from session to session is invaluable. Google has never had a reliable way of saving browsing history in a logical manner so this was a great add on. AAAAAARGH!
A fantastic extension, absolutely essential to my daily life, that sadly no longer works. Please update it, I need this!
Осторожно! Когда хром восстанавливает страницы (например, после сбоя), то те страницы, которые находятся в группе вкладок и "усыплены" этим приложением - они не восстановятся. Я так потерял много важных страниц, которые были сгруппированы.
I had great hopes for this extension. I used to use the original extension. BUT, it doesn't work. First of all 'Suspend all tabs in all windows' does not work at all. I had to click 'Force suspend all tabs in all windows' instead. OK, so this 'suspended' all tabs, and yet the 'System Memory Usage' extension shows: System Memory Usage Used Memory: 61.52 GB Total Memory: 64.00 GB Available Memory: 2.48 GB WHAT!? There goes any hope of limiting Chrome's illogical, disgraceful abuse of my system's memory.
