PDF.js is a Portable Document Format (PDF) viewer that is built with HTML5.
PDF.js is community-driven and supported by Mozilla. Our goal is to create a general-purpose, web standards-based platform for parsing and rendering PDFs.
This extension offers PDF.js as the default PDF viewer in Chrome. This is the official Chrome extension of the PDF.js project. Be careful of unrelated copycats.
If you want to use this viewer to view local files, visit chrome://extensions/?id=oemmndcbldboiebfnladdacbdfmadadm and put a check before "Allow access to file URLs".

Chrome is still downloading pdf documents instead of opening them. I've got all setting the way they should be, but no luck. Win10, x64, Chrome v46.0.2490.86 m (64-bit). Got it working. Just had to disable and re-enable. For some reason didn't take the first time around. Thanks.

I want to be able to open a PDF from Google Drive without having to "open with" some random PDF viewer. As an extension, I thought it would be automatic. Actually, I thought it would show up in the "open with" drop down but I realize it is not an app. When I click a link from ANYWHERE ELSE than Drive, the PDF opens immediately in a Chrome Browser tab and it's searchable. I can't even find this extension to use (it's obviously enabled in the extensions list). There needs to be a better description.
