This extension allows to find and delete duplicate bookmarks, empty folders, merge folders with the same name (within the same path), find no longer working and expired bookmarks and remove them easily.
Permissions explained:
1. Read and change your bookmarks(required on install) - required for core functions to work
2. Read and change all your data on the websites you visit(optional, not asked until you use Broken URLs checker) – to check if bookmarked page loads and doesn't return any error.

Great tool, Thanks so much. So quick and easy to use.
DISCOVERED A TIME-SAVING TRICK! On the "Find duplicate bookmarks" tab, this time instead of clicking every other checkbox, I clicked on one of the open eye icons it magically selected that bookmark as well as put checks in the previous (or following) 30 or so bookmarks. Then I just clicked remove all selected and they were gone! This may have something do with clicking the "Select in same folder" button, because I was only getting batches of dupes selected rather than, in my opinion, a more useful "Select all older bookmarks" or "Select all newer bookmarks" - but, even so I was able to bang out 300 bookmarks in a few minutes by clicking an eyeball and then clicking the "Remove all selected" button. it was only a few batches for me and I was done in quickly! You kinda have to go with the mindset of "I just want the dupes gone" in order to zip through this. I plan on now moving stuff around in bookmark manager as needed. To me that's better than going through each one by one and thinking about which dupe is in the better folder....300 times. Great trick I'm glad I stumbled upon!! :) Hope it helps you as well!
Great but how to select several duplicates or all at once not in the same folders?

Freezes when using Find Duplicate Bookmarks. It shows "15 duplicate groups found". I've hit the Wait button several times and nothing happens.
Após anos de sincronizações de favoritos em diferentes computadores e navegadores, estava com mais de 20 mil favoritos, muitos duplicados e em pastas duplicadas. Tentei várias extensões, algumas nem abriam, outras travavam pela quantidade. Essa Bookmarks Clean Up resolveu tudo em poucas horas. Recomendo iniciar pelo botão "Find Broken URLs", porque reduz o número de duplicados (no meu caso muitos estavam inválidos), depois vai em "Find Duplicate Bookmarks". Algumas você vai ter que selecionar manualmente, clicando no símbolo do olho, mas é até bom porque você controla melhor o que está apagando. De mais de 20 mil, caiu para pouco mais de dois mil. Perfeita extensão, recomendo!
