iCloud Passwords lets you securely fill passwords from iCloud Keychain when signing in to websites using Chrome. Any new passwords you create in Chrome are saved to your iCloud Keychain so that they are also available across your Apple devices. The extension can also generate verification codes, which you can set up by right-clicking on a QR code.

The iCloud Passwords extension is compatible with macOS Sonoma or later, and Windows versions supported by the iCloud for Windows app. To enable the extension on a PC, download the iCloud for Windows app from the Microsoft Store and enable iCloud Passwords.

v15 - not sure what happened but now all of my passwords are gone and it will not synch with cloud server. tried every troubleshooting tip i could find and nothing worked. I am beyond pissed now Update - i downgraded back to v14.2 and followed the following steps to get it working again. Open iCloud for Windows settings. Uncheck "Passwords" and press "Apply". Close the settings window. Click on the iCloud password extension in Chrome. It will show you the dialog telling you that iCloud Passwords are disabled in the iCloud app and will show you the button proposing you to open iCloud settings. Click on this button. Now you should see the iCloud setting window. Check "Passwords" and press "Apply". Now the extension should work properly. hope that helps someone. it did resolve my problems. wont be upgrading to v15 again anytime soon

Update; As of new update 3.0.4 (11/2/24), extension still does not work. All settings are active and extension still on directs me to download iCloud even though it's already downloaded and passwords are active. No auto-fill functions work. Update 2.3.22 (7/25/24), extension still does not work. All settings are active and extension still on directs me to open iCloud. No auto-fill functions work.; 2/14/24, Recent iCloud for Windows update, 15.0.215 and browser extension 2.2.9 are still broken. When clicking Enable Password Autofill, the popup just loops back to telling me to Enable Passwords in iCloud for Windows... which I've done numerous times. Received new update 2/6/24 and extension is still broken. When clicking Enable Password Autofill, the popup just loops back to telling me to Enable Passwords in iCloud for Windows... which I've done numerous times. iCloud Passwords extension has been broken since iCloud for Windows 14.2 launched.

Works exactly as expected. I have all my passwords from my iCloud Keychain just like if I was using Safari. People should learn what if it for and how it does it before complaining that it does not do a thing that it does not claim to do.

Not sure what happened but the extension for both Chrome and Edge stopped working. Granting permission and access does not even allow for the extension to run at all. This really screwed me over because I had used the option of auto-generating complex passwords for added security measures. Now I can't log into anything at all without having to go through an entire ordeal just to change passwords for everything. Avoid this extension.

For what it is worth I can at least use saved passwords in Arc browser without storing a duplicate in Google/Chrome. It even supports Verification codes / 2FA. Neat. Major downsides (on Mac): - Passwords don't always save, I now have to either register via Safari or manually create the record in the Passwords app. - The native strong password generator cannot be used within the browser during registration. The prompt state you must use the Passwords app to generate. - I have to login almost every day into the extension. Look.. the better alternative is to move your passwords to a 3rd party service like LastPass or Microsoft Authenticator. The downsides are something I'm willing to deal with for now.
