"Audio only youtube" chrome extension enables you to disable only video on youtube which saves internet usage more than 50% when you want to listen songs on youtube.
**Note: It doesn't support Youtube Live Videos.**
You can enable/disable it by just clicking on the icon shown in the extension bar.

Work as it say,really easy and simple to use .
Why can't everyone understand how to use this. This is pretty simple, fact is you can never disable the actual video from YT. This extension will remove your Video or the Picture shown in the player. This is exactly what I wanted to censor content but listen to Audio only.
After testing using the net-internals chrome tools, the extension appears to indeed lower overall data usage. With a ~6 minute video (144p, static image video) using the extension showed 4338 KB used on average, while 7588 KB was used without the extension. Hopefully this helps to clear up anyone's doubts. It would be nice if the replacement splash screen were customizable, for example having just a black screen instead of having the text displayed. Great extension otherwise. Edit: The video is now replaced with the thumbnail which I think this a nice compromise. 5 stars! Edit2: No longer works.
i liked it but then the cached stream kept resetting itself causing the music to stop playing for about half a minute
