Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

Wildly stupid. There is no excuse for removing the backspace functionality and NOT giving an easily implemented option to tun it on or off. Chrome was great a few years ago, but this is the final straw. I'm switching to firefox.
Funktioniert nicht auf allen Seiten. Bringt doch einfach die Funktion per Flag wieder.

This should not be a required... At least make an option to re-enable this functionality that should never have been removed... That and it doesn't even work on many pages!
Worst idea ever. why not put a checkbox in settings that enables the backspace key to go back since poeple in general are stupid?
Mental! Just reinstate the backspace function to chrome you bunch of nutters!

Doesn't work. I still get the stupid nag message and no back-navigation. Sorry guys, this is pointless and I've had enough. I'm returning to Firefox.
Why do i need an extension to put back functionality that worked just fine for 20 years?? If morons cant figure out that backspacing in a text box deletes word, or going back when filling in a form removes the data, perhaps they shouldn't be allowed on the internet for everyone's safety. You can report this issue (do it many times to get the point across), from the chrome menu button, help, report an issue.. Keep doing it. The more people who report it the more likely sanity gets reinstated and the functionality put back how its meant to be.
