Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.
What's New in 3.0:

* Updated to Manifest V3.
Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.
This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

This works well to go back, but everytime I am typing something, it still takes me back a page.

This does not work with Flash pages/objects, so defeats the object completely. The fact that this exists is pathetic on Google's behalf. This should be a switch to reenable the original code, not a crappy extension.
Go Back with Backspace doesn´t work...
Doesn't work on all sites, as it used to. Also it is audacious to give this functionality back by a Chrome App, which are going to be discontinued by 2018. Google could give us easily a browser flag for keeping the functionality. There is no reason to remove this feature entirely, and I am sorely disappointed. Not just because they removed this functionality, but because how unnecessary it was.
Doesn't work on all websites properly. The fact that it was removed as a standard function in the first place is ridiculous. Please just create an option to disable the new alt+left function. I get why it makes sense for novice users and those who aren't technologically inclined, but for the rest of us it's a major annoyance.
