This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

Great to have it working on desktop Chrome and Edge, and now Edge mobile too. The adoption of this approach to changing screen and theme brightness and hue, starting with f.lux fifteen years ago, is moving at a snail's pace. It's good to see that third-party developers are still pushing forward, in spite of the lacklustre OS integration.

Please fix: I am using this strictly for Udemy.com which ignores dark mode and burns my retinas out when I visit it. But some of the text, particularly when you're doing an exercise in code sandbox comes out black. I have to toggle any setting on and off to make the text white, but on the next page its black again. I have to toggle any layout setting on/off every refresh or I get black text with black background. Clearly the extension has the capability to make the text white, but its not applying itself properly.
