This eye-care extension enables night mode by creating dark themes for websites on the fly. Dark Reader inverts bright colours to make web pages high contrast and easier to read.

Adjust brightness, contrast, the sepia filter, font preferences. Enable dark mode on every web page or give websites a sepia tone. Enable or disable Dark Reader for specific websites, automatically sync with system dark mode, or detect already dark websites and leave them unchanged.

This is the original Dark Reader extension. Since 2014, we continuously evolve alongside modern web technologies to deliver fast and reliable dark mode support for people sensitive to bright light.

For a few days now, I've been experiencing flickering in the picture. Especially on YouTube. If I deactivate Dark Reader, everything is fine. And on some websites, the borders are now white, which were also dark before. Apparently the extension has been broken patched.

Love it. I love being able to reduce excess glare from white background sites with this app. Overall experience is seamless and a vast majority of sites work well with it. I actually forget I have this enabled it is so seamless Thank you!

I love it. there are some sites (https://copilot.microsoft.com/) that don't change colors correctly but it's otherwise quite consistent and efficient.

Leider seit 1 oder 2 Updates nicht mehr zu gebrauchen, war ein top Plugin. Die Settings mit den Seiten wurden komplett gewiped und sind unwiederbringlich gelöscht. Selbst wenn man ein lokales Backup hat schlägt der Import dieser Daten fehl. Außerdem kann man auch keine neue Einstellungen vornehmen, denn jedes Mal, wenn man den Browser neustartet, ist die Liste erneut leer. Somit komplett unbrauchbar. Das automatische Erkennen vom Dark Mode auf Websites ist auch komplett verbuggt. Manchmal zeigt er auf Seiten wie YouTube oder Twitter an, dass ein Dark Theme erkannt wurde und deaktiviert sich selbst, andere Male erkennt er es auf denselben Seiten einfach nicht und ich muss manuell deaktivieren. Wenn sich der Dark Reader dann doch mal selbst deaktiviert, kann es trotzdem passieren, dass er manche Elemente einer Website dennoch einfärbt. Bis das alles behoben ist und man auch wieder Einstellungen beibehalten kann, ist das Plugin nicht brauchbar.

I've tried so many "dark mode" extensions and overall this is the best out of all of them. Works perfectly on 99,9% of sites. Other extensions usually mess up the colors somehow. Some of them are pretty shady as well. Customization is great too. (for those using 4chan dark reader can be a hit or miss though. sometimes the site goes dark sometimes not)
